These types of games are called Visual Novels, and majority of them are made in Renpy. You can search it up to learn more, a knowledge of the Python programming language helps greatly.

I love this game so much, it is fun to speedrun and has so much replayability! The only issue I have is that it is impossible to play on Linux. I would love to have a Linux build of the game, so treat I could play it on my laptop. Other than that, this is an amazing game for everyone.

I develop games on my windows 10 with UE4 and I haven't had a problem.

It might be your files got corrupted somewhere or your antivirus is acting up.
